Position Details

Snowsports School Director

RED Mountain Resort in Rossland, BC, western Canada’s first ski area, is recruiting a Snowsports School Director to lead RED’s ski and snowboard learning programs. This is a terrific opportunity to work in a vibrant mountain community with a recreation lifestyle that includes world-class skiing, snowboarding, golf, mountain biking and other activities. The ideal candidate will have previous success in Snowsports school management.  Based in Rossland and reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities include:

  • Directing and growing RED’s ski school business unit which includes ski, snowboard, backcountry guiding, Kindercare and elementary/high school student programs
  • Leading and supervising the team of ski and snowboard school instructors
  • Recruiting, training and supervising staff
  • Budgeting, financial management and reporting
  • Teaching as needed
  • Creating and packaging destination programs with RED’s sales department
  • Assisting with sales and marketing activities, special events, evening activities, elementary and high school orientations as required
  • Being a team player as a key member of RED’s management team.

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum of a Level III CSIA or equivalent
  • Computer proficiency especially with Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Polished interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Highly organized and accountable
  • Superior guest service and leadership skills
  • French, German, and/or Mandarin as second languages an asset
