Come celebrate spring with us at the Kokanee Spring Fest at Red. Scheduled for March 14-29, 2009 Red will be hosting a series of events that appeal to all types of skiers, boarders, families, couples and snow enthusiasts! From retro weekend, big air comps, and hot dog eating contests, to kids’ day, snowshoeing races and more, the Kokanee Spring Fest at Red celebrates two weeks full of fun events for everyone to participate in.
The K2 Provincial Championships sponsored by Teck is an event hosted by the Red Mountain Racers for athletes aged 13 and 14. Events will include, Super G, Slalom, and Giant Slalom, taking place on the Back Trail and the infamous Face of Red – site of the first ever World Cup ski races in Canada! This series will feature about 200 racers battling it out in the gates to be crowned Provincial champions. The Provincials is also a qualifying event for the K2 National Championships, and the Whistler Cup International Race. You're guaranteed to be impressed with the abilities and efforts of these alpine skiing stars of tomorrow, and the best way to see them close up is to get involved. Situated at the cultural hub of Red Mountain Resort, The Gathering brings together individuals with a passion for mountain living. From March 13 – 15th a mix of photographers, videographers, artists, skiers, adventurers and visionaries from across the globe will come together to share images, films and stories with other mountain enthusiasts. The weekend will encompass an exhibition of their work as well as skiing, riding and celebrating mountain lifestyle.

Retro Weekend - dress up in your best 50's-80's ski garb and strut your stuff!
Retro skiers and boarders charge the mogul course with style and speed. Winners will become the king or queen of the mountain and bask in the fame and glory for all eternity. Mogul mania is about skiing or boarding with you’re your heart and soul, what could possible be more fun that bashing spring moguls and feeling the snow spray up in your face. Mogul maniacs also throw down huge airs like the cossack, JLB, twister twister spread, daffies and helicopters.

Cruise the Blues: For all ages – Cruise the blue runs all day and find the sign post on each run. The sign post will hold a stamp/sticker to be marked on your card. Once you have cruised all runs, hand in your card at Tickets & Guest Services. All completed cards will go in a draw for some prizes. Prizes drawn at 3:30pm at the base.
9:00am – 3:00pm A poker game played by skiing or riding the runs of Red and Granite Mountain. The best hand at the end of the day wins a prize. Registration: $2
4pm-7pm in the TMP Building. Cost: $20. Includes: CSF Membership, pin, membership card, FIS Rules Manual ($20 Value) .The Canadian Snowboard Federation (CSF) Officials Training Program is meant to help all individuals who volunteer time and expertise to snowboarding events and competitions in Canada.
The purpose of the Officials Training Program is to provide snowboard officials with a greater understanding of the role they will assume during a competition and to introduce them to the rules of snowboard competition, the International Rules of Competition (IRC) of the Fédération International de Ski (FIS).

11:00am:Compete in the dual slalom Larissa Wedrick Memorial Race, a day in remembrance of Larissa Wedrick and for the promotion of helmet safety.
The Club Championships will bring some of BC's best young racers to compete on the steeps of Red Mountain.
A first step slopestyle competition for kids aged 8 – 14yrs. Registration will be from 9am – 10am at Tickets & Guest Services on the day of event. Cost: $20 – each athlete will receive BCSA/CSF membership, Toque and a T-Shirt Top 3 in each category will receive a medal!
3pm - Join us for fun in the snow, sun and slush! The Slush Cup features a fun competition for those that want to give it a try. Come out and watch as skiers and riders attempt to cross a pit of icy water without getting wet! Registration and waiver signing can be done at Tickets & Guest Services on the day.
2:30pm – Model your best Hawaiian Island gear on the base lodge deck for a fashion show. The audience will judge their favourites and the winners will be sure to take home great prizes! Free to compete.
