What footwear is best to wear for snowshoeing/fat biking?
Insulated winter walking footwear is the best option.

Where will we go for our tours?
Our mountain bike guides will take you on the fun local trails in the area. For snowshoeing, our guides will show you our secret, untracked trails hidden within the resort!

What is the minimum and maximum size of the tour groups?
The minimum and maximum number of people varies for each tour offered. Please call one of our reservation agents to inquire about a specific tour.

What experience/fitness level do I need to have?
These tours are great as an introduction to snowshoeing or fat biking, so no level of experience is necessary. Fat bikers must have some experience riding a regular bike. A basic level of fitness is recommended, however the tours are customizable to your groups ability. For those wanting to try fat biking with little to no experience biking learn to bike clinics & lessons are available.

Where do the tours leave from?
All tours depart from the Get Lost centre at Red Mountain Resort.

Are the tours condition/weather dependent?
Our tours will run in nearly all weather, but may be cancelled due to very extreme conditions. Generally speaking, if Red Resort is open, our tours will run. In certain cases it may be necessary to reschedule a tour due to poor/low/unsafe snow conditions. Fat bikes are not just for snow, so are not affected by variable snow conditions.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made within 48hrs will incur a $10 admin fee. Cancellations within 24 hrs will not receive a refund.

Do I have to wear a helmet for fat biking? Can I wear my ski helmet?
Yes, BC law requires that people on bicycles wear helmets.
Yes, please wear your ski or snowboard helmet if you have one to keep your head warm and safe. Otherwise a bike helmet will be provided.

Where can I rent snowshoes and fat bikes?
You can rent fat bikes from the Get Lost centre and snowshoes from the Red Mountain Rentals shop.

Will I need ski poles for snow shoeing?
Yes as a safety precaution we recommend that you use poles. Poles help with balance in very rugged terrain or loose/deep snow, help provide some propulsion on steep uphills and can help you get up on your feet if you fall.

Will I need protective eyewear for either tour?
It is strongly advised to wear tinted eyewear to protect your eyes from snow glare, especially on blue bird days.
