Getting to Red Mountain

Located within the community of Rossland and only 10 kilometres north of the Canada/US border, Red is 2.5 hours drive from the Spokane, WA International Airport, or 3.5 hours drive from Kelowna, BC International Airport. Daily regional flights are available from Vancouver and Calgary to Castlegar (30 minutes from Red) and Trail Airports (15 minutes from Red), a short drive from the Resort.

There are a number of flights available that access Red by travel through Canada and the United States.

Travel through the United States
Most Americans and International travelers find the quickest and most cost efficient method of travel is to fly into the Spokane, WA international airport, rent a car or take the Red Express shuttle and drive north to Red Mountain Resort, Rossland, BC. Approximately a 2.5 hour drive from the Spokane Airport, the drive is scenic, straight-forward and hassle-free. Spokane International Airport is serviced by Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air, ExpressJet, Delta, Skywest Airlines, United/United Express, or US Airways.

Travel through Canada

Most individuals traveling through Canada fly into Calgary, AB or Vancouver, BC and take a connecting flight to Castlegar Municipal Airport or Trail Regional Airport. Air Canada Jazz flies into Castlegar from Calgary and Vancouver daily, while Pacific Coastal Airlines flies into Trail Regional Airport from Vancouver, BC, daily. 

Kelowna International Airport is serviced by Air Canada, WestJet, or Horizon Air and is approximately a 3.5 hour drive from Rossland.  Shuttles are available and must be booked through Red Central Reservations in advance.

Red Express Shuttle

In the winter, on behalf of Red Mountain Resort Adrenaline Adventures operates the Red Express; a shuttle to and from Spokane International Airport, Castlegar Municipal Airport, Trail Regional Airport, and Kelowna International Airport. ALL SHUTTLE TRIPS MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE!  Bookings can be made through Red Central Reservations at 1-877-969-7669 or www.redreservations.com. Driving here:
Red Mountain Resort is located on BC provincial highway 3B. If you are not accustomed to driving in the snow, we highly recommend that you reserve a four-wheel drive vehicle when renting; preferably a vehicle with snow tires or chains. Regional Road Conditions are updated daily by the BC Ministry of Highways for your planning and safety

From Spokane, Washington - 2.5 hours:

PassportIMPORTANT NOTE FOR AMERICAN VISITORS: Due to new changes in border policy, called the WHTI, or the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, visitors from the United States should be aware that U.S. Customs no longer accepts oral declarations of citizenship. On-land and sea crossings require proof of citizenship. A government-issued photo ID (driver's license) and a birth certificate is acceptable, but a passport is highly recommended.

From the airport, follow signs for eastbound Interstate 90. Exit the I-90 at exit #281 (US 395N – Division Street). Drive north along Division Street through Spokane. Continue to follow Hwy. 395 N through Chewelah and Colville. At Kettle Falls, turn right onto Hwy. 25 N. Continue along Hwy 25 through Northport to the Patterson BC customs office. In Canada, Hwy 25 becomes Hwy 22. Follow Hwy 22 until you reach Rossland on your right, or continue up the highway until you see a flashing yellow light and sign for Red Mountain Resort.

From Kelowna, British Columbia - 3.5 hours:

From the airport, turn left on Airport Way and follow signs for Highway 97. Turn left onto Highway 97, then, from there, you can turn left onto Highway 33. Highway 33 continues for 130km, then you can turn left on the Crowsnest Highway, or Highway 3. 140 km later, you can turn right on Highway 3b for 24 km, and you will see Red Mountain Resort on the right.

From Vancouver, British Columbia - 7 hours:

Take TRANSCANADA 1 eastbound to Hope. At Hope, follow Hwy 3 through Princeton, Osoyoos, and Grand Forks. At Nancy Greene Lake, approximately 45 minutes past Grand Forks, turn right onto Hwy 3B. Follow Hwy 3B until you reach Red Mountain or Rossland.

From Calgary, Alberta - 7.5 hours:

Go West on TRANS CANADA 1 through Banff to provincial Hwy 93. Go South on Hwy 93 through Cranbrook to provincial Hwy 3. Go Southwest on Hwy 3 through Creston to Hwy 3A. At Trail, turn left onto Hwy 22 to Rossland and Red Mountain.
