Job Opening – Events Volunteer

Position title: Events Volunteer

Reports to: Nicole Briggs, Marketing & Events Manager
                                                                       
Role of the Events Volunteer:
The role of the Events Volunteer is to provide assistance in set up, pack down and the operation of Red Mountain Events.

Goals of the Events Team:
Set up and assist in the operation of on mountain and base lodge events in a professional manner.  This includes and is not limited to erecting fencing, banners, tents, sound equipment, start gate, event personnel (ie: door host (collecting tickets), gate judges, scoring, timing, runners etc…).

Responsibilities of the Event Volunteer:

  • Professional attitude
    • As an ambassador of the resort you represent the goals and vision of Red Mountain

  • Customer service
    • Arrive on time, dressed and ready for shift
    • Professional appearance: shaven, gear ready, Events Vest on
    • You are a representing the Mountain
  • Daily role
    • Check in for your shift at the Event Office
    • Read memos and information
    • Receive task briefing from Marketing & Events Manager
    • Ensure you have a radio for the day – must be contactable
    • Put on Events Vest
    • Collect any equipment/tools required for the task
    • Commence task
    • Complete timesheet at completions of shift

  • Product Knowledge
    • General knowledge of mountain and run identification

  • Safety – must meet the requirements outlined within the RED Mountain Employee & Volunteer Manual.

  • Physical Minimum Requirements
    • Must be able to work in all weather conditions – cold, snow, wind, rain etc…
    • Must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate or above level
    • Must be able to carry equipment while skiing or snowboarding

  • Staff Relations
    • Open and regular communication with Marketing & Events Manager & Volunteer Team Leader
    • Ability to work with the team and independently
    • Good relations with other departments: lift operators, food and beverage, patrol, ticket office, maintenance, group sales and marketing
    • Respect for all fellow staff at Red Mountain Resort
