Facilities Coordinator

Red Mountain Resort is hiring a Facilities Coordinator that will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of facilities management including building maintenance, janitorial services, and parking lot coordination. The successful applicant will be expected to work some holidays and weekends. This is a full-time, year-round position.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensuring guests and employees are treated courteously, safely and efficiently
  • Overseeing on-going and daily maintenance and repairs of all Red Mountain buildings and facilities
  • Ensuring all facilities are clean, neat and free of clutter
  • Troubleshooting and evaluating repair and maintenance needs, including projects and general facility upkeep
  • Operating and maintaining the drinking water systems for required facilities
  • Maintaining the septic systems for required facilities
  • Ordering cleaning and maintenance supplies for all facilities
  • Knowing and keep up to date with health and safety regulations and safe work procedures
  • Effectively dealing with customer complaints in a polite and efficient manner
  • Overseeing and operating the parking lot, ensuring that parking is run efficiently
  • Ensuring that all snow removal is done in a timely and efficient manner, and is maintained on a daily basis
  • Providing supervision and guidance to employees and outside contractors as required in accordance with Red Mountain policies, collective agreement and employment laws
  • Communicating regularly and effectively with Facilities Manager, other managers and employees
  • Assisting other employees in performing duties, including physical labour work
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities management or construction including experience with:
    • Water systems management
    • Septic field maintenance
    • Plumbing, electrical, small machinery repair, carpentry and general maintenance repairs
  • Must be experienced operating equipment including a snowblower, telehandler and crane truck in a safe manner
  • Must be experienced driving a motor vehicle, quad and snowmobile in a safe manner
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be physically capable of the strenuous work including frequently lifting heavy materials, shoveling, walking on snow and ice and other labour work as required
  • Will be required to supply your own hand tools (cordless drills, drivers, skill saws etc.)
  • Must have outdoor clothing and appropriate gear for working in cold weather and snow
  • Supervisory experience would be considered an asset
