Head Housekeeper

The Head Housekeepers main area of responsibility can be condensed as the behind the scenes function that follows through a reservation from start to finish creating a backdrop for an impeccable experience at RED. This includes review arrivals for any potential early check ins, scheduling adequate staff and morning assignment meetings, keeping standards high with housekeepers and keep them motivated,  Additionally, the Head Housekeeper’s responsibilities also include ensuring the building grounds are in presentable condition, special requests, creating detailed daily assignments, coordinating yearly deep cleans and inventory.

Duties in Detail:

  • Setting high standards of cleanliness and maintenance
  • Inspecting daily cleans to ensure they meet the standards of RMRL
  • Building a dynamo cleaning team
  • Weekly scheduling of a 7 day a week crew
  • Motivating housekeeping staff to perform to the best of their abilities
  • Ensuring staff report in a timely fashion
  • Reporting any disciplinary issues to the Lodging Manager
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels for unit supplies and amenities
  • Ensuring all items in the units are functional and in good condition
  • Insure clear lines of communication exist with Guest Services to keep engaged on any last minute changes to the arrivals
  • Head Housekeeper will insure all units are inspected after every checkout for damage, required maintenance and check inventory of units to insure all furnishings intact.  Units are not occupied unit the Head Housekeeper has met the standards of RMRL
  • Over seeing the Strata Cleaning schedule which includes snow removal in the Winter
  • Cleaning units when necessary in the Winter and daily cleaning April to December
  • Must be able to work shift work
  • Baggage handling on a as needed basis
  • Training each new Housekeeper on the Occupational Health and Safety Standards
  • Maintaining hot tubs


  • Previous management experience
  • Previous house keeping experience and asset
  • Knowledge of Roomaster an asset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
