The Trail Map

Instructions
To browse the three-view trail map, use the mouse cursor or your arrow keys to click and drag the trail map throughout; use the 'A' and 'Z' keys to zoom in and zoom out. You can also use the Toolbar on the left to move about the map or use the Slider to zoom in. There are three views: Granite & Red Mountain, Paradise Basin, and Grey Basin.
Red Mountain Resort features world-class terrain with 2,919 vertical feet of incredible tree skiing, wide-open glades of champagne powder, corduroy groomers, a quad lift, two triple chairs, a double chair, Terrain Park, easy-to-access backcountry, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, slope-side lodging, fine dining, friendly locals, and a historic gold mining community filled with character. With 1,685 acres of terrain, plus 2,500 acres of easy to access backcountry. Red boasts a wide variety of skiing and snowboarding terrain to suit every ability level.

Ski/Snowboard Terrain Park
Located on the T-Bar slope, Red Park includes 15 rails, funboxes and tabletop jumps with features suitable for all ability levels. The park will be improved this year with better flow, new jumps sound system and a skier / boarder-cross track near the base of the Motherlode chair. To view a video of Red Park click here.
Beginner Areas
Located behind The Mountain Project Headquarters and Kindercare building, Red’s magic carpet surface conveyor is perfect for those learning to ski or snowboard. Here beginners will enjoy an easy, convenient introduction to the sport. Once you have mastered the basics, move over to Red’s new beginner and intermediate terrain which spans over 100 acres and is easily accessible by the new Silverlode chair.
Intermediate Areas
The Paradise Basin is the ideal location for intermediate skiers and riders. The majority of groomed runs are blue with a few black diamonds. Also offered are a variety of wide-open glades for those skiers looking for a challenge. The Paradise terrain is the perfect place for individuals who want to improve their skills while having a great time in the gorgeous surroundings of the Kootenays.
Advanced / Expert Areas
If you are an advanced skier or snowboarder who enjoys challenging terrain, then Red is the resort for you. Awarded one of North America's top ten expert resorts by Forbes Traveler magazine, as well as Best Powder, Best Steeps, Best Trees by Ski Canada Magazine, a few hours on the slopes at Red on a powder day will have you hooked for life! For truly expert skiing and riding visit the Grey Basin; just remember that the terrain here is extreme so always ski with a buddy.
Snowhosts
Are you a new guest to Red Mountain Resort? Then take advantage of our fantastic Snowhost program with free tours of the mountain. Stop by the Guest Services office for details. Tours depart daily from the base area at 9:00am and 12:00pm. Note: Times subject to change.
Cross-Country and Snowshoe Loop
For beautifully groomed cross-country tracks a short distance up the highway from Red, visit the Black Jack Cross-Country courses. The website can be found at www.skiblackjack.ca. For a relaxing hike through the forest visit Red Sports for snowshoe rentals and details on how to access the new snowshoe loop situated at the base of Red.
