Recently voted Canada’s #1 Outdoor Town by Explore magazine, the Rossland area is a natural playground for adventure seekers from around the world. Our stunning alpine town also features all of the amenities you would expect: shopping, casual and fine dining, pubs, bars, fitness centre and more.Rossland is located 8 km north of the US/Canada border in the heart of the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. Rossland is a 2.5 hour drive from the Spokane, WA International Airport, or 3.5 hours drive from Kelowna, BC International Airport. Daily regional flights are available from Vancouver and Calgary to Castlegar (30 minutes from Red) and Trail Airports (15 minutes from Red), a short drive from the Resort. See the Getting Here page for directions and Google Maps navigation on how to get to Rossland. Rossland itself is only 3km down the highway from Red Mountain Resort.
Transportation Options
In-town shuttle
Adrenaline Adventures will begin operation of an evening shuttle running from Rossland to Red Mountain and back. The shuttle will run 7 days a week at the cost of $2 each way. Punch Passes which offer 10 rides for $10 will also be available, just ask your shuttle driver for details. Adrenaline Adventures, Red Mountain Resort, Nowhere Special, The Old Firehall and The Flying Steamshovel are pleased to be able to offer the Rossland community and it's guests safer, more affordable options for evening transportation to and from the Mountain. Service starts Saturday, December 22nd.
The schedule is as follows:
- 5:15pm pick-up at Nowhere Special, The Old Firehall, and The Flying Steamshovel with drop-off at Red Mountain Resort.
- 5:30pm pick-up at Red Mountain Resort with drop-off at The Flying Steamshovel, The Old Firehall and Nowhere Special.
- 7:15pm pick-up at Nowhere Special, The Old Firehall, and The Flying Steamshovel with drop-off at Red Mountain Resort.
- 7:30pm pick-up at Red Mountain Resort with drop-off at The Flying Steamshovel, The Old Firehall and Nowhere Special.
- 9:15pm pick-up at Nowhere Special, The Old Firehall, and The Flying Steamshovel with drop-off at Red Mountain Resort.
- 9:30pm pick-up at Red Mountain Resort with drop-off at The Flying Steamshovel, The Old Firehall and Nowhere Special.
- 11:15pm pick-up at Nowhere Special, The Old Firehall, and The Flying Steamshovel with drop-off at Red Mountain Resort.
- 11:30pm pick-up at Red Mountain Resort with drop-off at The Flying Steamshovel, The Old Firehall and Nowhere Special.
- 1:15am pick-up at Nowhere Special, The Old Firehall, and The Flying Steamshovel with drop-off at Red Mountain Resort.
- 1:30am pick-up at Red Mountain Resort with drop-off at The Flying Steamshovel, The Old Firehall and Nowhere Special.
Please note: The Shuttle will NOT be operating on Christmas Day, December 25th.
In addition, a FREE shuttle provided by Red Mountain Resort and operated by Adrenaline Adventures will be scheduled for the Peak days ofDecember 26th - 31st (inclusive) and will run as scheduled:
- Pick-up at Emcon Yard in upper Rossland at 10:00am, 11:00am and 12:00am with drop-off at the Red Mountain Resort base area.
- Pick-up at Red Mountain Resort at 2:00pm, 3:00pm and 4:00pm with drop-off at the Emcon Yard.
