Is this place real?

Or is the hype machine just plugging away, creating some unbelievable dream? Is it one of those weird Inception things? Maybe it’s little bit of everything...but for us, we just call this place "home" and like to consider RED the “last great, unspoiled resort”. We’re blessed by the mountain gods to be along the famous "Powder Highway" in British Columbia and deliver 4,200 acres of pristine skiing unfettered by overdevelopment - no lame mountain shopping malls here, folks. We’re just 5 minutes across the border too so we’re practically eskimo-brothers with those U.S.’ers.

But when it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter what we say because we don’t want you to believe our hype - we’ll let everyone else speak for us...and we're totally cool with that.

where is Rossland?

world-class terrain and top 20 acreage

We barely believe it ourselves. Recent expansions to Grey Mountain and Mt. Kirkup (snowcat) grew our uphill serviced terrain to 2,957 acres - bigger than those big guys in CO and WY. That's skiing on four distinct peaks and 2,919 ft. of fall-line vertical for all abilities. (Just don't call us a mega-resort!).

Think Acres Per Skier, Not Skiers Per Acre

Thanks to expansion both up and out, we're less crowded than ever. Want first chair? Wake up kinda early and put your boots on, dude. Fresh tracks after lunch? Not unheard of. RED’s relaxed pace is our secret power—it's like the 80s 'round here w/o the fanny packs.

The Friendliest Locals On Earth

Rossland's that rare beast with an historic downtown core from gourmet espresso to Paleo dog food. And all of it's held together by the famously friendly locals and their commitment to making sure that Canadian Hospitality still means something, even on a powder day. "After you, eh?"

Canada's Largest Cat Skiing Operation

Not only are there 8 peaks at BRC's disposal, there are almost 20,000 acres of the best tree skiing, glades and pillow lines in the world. With BRC you can explore the vast backcountry with a catfull of stoked riders sharing your ability: Intermediate, Advanced, Expert or, occasionally, Überexpert. Yeah, that's right: Überexpert.

Real Food. Real Beer. Real Music.

Burgers & fries have their moments but nothing beats a proper meal after a heavy day on the hill. From gourmet grocery to seafood to, um, land-food, you'll find good grinds—even if you're vegan! Don’t forget our Beer Goggles Craft Beer Festival and Rafters Bar regularly hosting international touring acts like Allen Stone.

Slopeside Accom for the 99 Percent!

From the luxurious new Slalom Creek condos a snowball's throw from the lift, to hotel rooms in Rossland, staying at RED makes people move here. There's a free shuttle bus from town to base making for an easy "commute," so, whether your priority is First Chair or Last Call, we've got a bed with your name on it, dirtbag to deluxe.

A PICTURE IS WORTH 1,000 acres of new terrain!

So in case you haven’t heard, this will be just our second season with a newly new chairlift and 22 new runs on 1,000 acres of new terrain on Grey Mountain this summer - bringing us to over 2,800 in-bounds acres (4,200 total). We’re pretty stoked about it and bet you would be too. Feel free to browse some of our select photos below of the place we call home.
