From a rodeo cowboy to an alien invader, we had 50+ tough contenders brave the cold and test their winter surf skills at this years Slush Cup! Only a select few made it across the chilly waters, which made for some epic spills and splashes. Check out the photos!
An important reminder that please – for your safety and everyone else’s safety – stay clear of RED’s lift equipment (including chairs, towers/terminals/foundations, and load/unload ramps.) This includes not crossing fencing around terminals; as any of the lifts may start moving without warning (yes, for real!). Lift terminals ARE under video surveillance. This also helps tremendously to avoid strain on any outside resources in the event of an incident.
The Rossland Bikepacking Summit will introduce bikepacking to a diverse audience and will strengthen and build the local bikepacking community in the West Kootenays. The event organizers believe biking is a sport that can be enjoyed by everybody and every body. However, several barriers to engaging in the sport exist and include lack of exposure to other bikepackers, challenge locating routes, lack of community, and a difficulty navigating the broad and esoteric worlds of bicycles and bikepacking gear. This summit addresses those barriers by including a gear expo and demo, speakers, and a group ride and camp. All events are planned to be inclusive and welcoming to all ages, bodies, genders and cultures.
We had a dog-gone good time for the Second Annual Wiener Takes All Dog Race! Over 105 fired-up pups ran in the race of a lifetime. It was a day full of furry friendly fun with Yugen - a german shepherd/belgian malinois mix taking the crown. Thanks to our amazing sponsors House of Paws, Rex Specs and Jaydlyn Joan Artistry. See the photos!

Rattlecat Cup Round 10 really rocked! 300 snowboarders and snowskaters came out in support of Central Snowboard Academy and absolutely ripped it down the race course, making it the biggest turnout in all 10 years of competition! Congratulations to all those shredders who made the podium this year! Check out the photos!
The Game Rail Jam returned Downtown, and the riders went ham! The steeziest skiers and boarders from around the Kootenays took over Queen St, jibbing and sliding their way down the gnarliest course we've had in years! The local talent around this place is truly next level, and the stage is set for next year to be even bigger! Special thanks to The Shop in Castlegar for all their support in keeping this legendary Rossland tradition alive! Check out the photos and video!
And that’s a wrap on the 2023 Canadian Open! The level of skiing and snowboarding was at an all time high, as both the Juniors and FWQ2* athletes sent some of the craziest tricks we’ve ever seen–in some very questionable conditions on Link’s Line. A huge congratulations to all our athletes that came out and put on a show for us this year, and a special thanks to our presenting sponsors! Check out the photos and video!
