OPENING DAY UPDATE: December 11, 2019

Unfortunately mother nature just isn’t quite making it happen for us yet. Thursday Opening Day will be delayed as we wait to see what this next storm does coming in this week. A midweek status update will come when available.

RED MOUNTAIN: the last great, unspoiled resort

Located in Rossland, BC, 1st stop on Canada’s famous Powder Highway, fiercely independent RED delivers 3,850 acres of pristine skiing, putting us in the Top 10, size-wise, in N. America. With a new chairlift and 7 more runs over 300 additional acres on Topping Creek to streamline skier flow to Grey Mountain, this is the Year of RED. With 7.6m of annual snowfall, $10/run cat-skiing, a brand new boutique hotel and a modern hostel at the base, it’s no wonder The NY Times voted us (and our friendly locals) their “#8 Best Place in the World to Visit.” We also nabbed “Most Underrated Resort” from Skiing. Wondering what “#1 Most Acres Per Skier” means? Fresh turns you don’t have to fight for.

Our numbers don’t lie.

Top 10 Total Skiable Acres in North America

At RED, visitors can choose from 110 runs spread across three stellar mountains that feature everything from wide-open groomers to steep, powder-filled glades. With more than 3,850 skiable acres and 890 meters (2,919 feet) of vertical terrain serviced by 7 total lifts, there is a lot to explore at RED. The abundant snow, friendly staff and locals, and the short lift lines are just a few reasons why our guests fall in love.

Not a number cruncher?

then take in the eye candy.

When the snow melts and the skis and boards are stored away, adventure in RED and Rossland turn the page and simply continue to chug away 24-7. Whether its our epic mountain biking, whitewater rafting, high-altitude golf, fly fishing, or kayaking we have plenty to keep you busy day in and day out. Finish it all off and kick back at our local award-winning craft brewery, Rossland Beer Co., for a pint at sunset. The snow may be gone on the mountain, but the adventure is just beginning.

With 360 degree views of the infamous Kootenay Sea, the towns of Rossland and Trail as well as the beautiful Columbia River all from the mountain, those “scenic breaks” will be happening left and right – which we all know are simply just excuses to rest those legs, but that’s ok with us. That’s what we’re here for.
