What To Expect:

Welcome to your ski or snowboard lesson with Fall Line Ski & Snowboard School! If you are about to join us for a lesson out on the slopes, there are a couple of things to know before you get here.

  • Come dressed in snow pants, winter jacket, mitts or gloves & a face warmer/neck tube
  • Long socks are ideal for wearing in your ski and snowboard boots, and pull them up as high as they go!
  • Layer up underneath your jacket and snow pants - the temperature can be different at the bottom of the mountain (usually warmer) versus the top (usually colder)
  • If it is below -15°C its a good idea to use hand warmers and toe warmers (these can be purchased in our Piste Off Retail Shop)
  • If you have your own equipment, make sure it fits before your lesson starts. Otherwise precious time is wasted in your lesson fixing equipment
  • Helmets are mandatory for everyone 18 and under, and highly recommended for 19+ too
  • Goggles are recommended but not mandatory – they can be very helpful in the elements (sun, snow, wind) but also sometimes a nuisance when learning a new sport
  • If you are renting equipment, arrive an hour early to get through the rental shop before your lesson starts
  • All program participants are required to have a lift ticket or season’s pass on them during a lesson
  • Fall Line Ski & Snowboard School is located in a log cabin between the Magic Carpet and Silverlode Chairlift
  • Come check in with our Snow School staff 5-10 minutes before your lesson starts and we will show you where to meet your instructor
  • If you have pre-purchased lift tickets or rental equipment you will need to pick these up prior to your lesson start time
  • Discover & Next Step Skiing and Snowboarding lessons must come to the snow school building 1 hour before the lesson starts to pick up rental vouchers and lift tickets
  • Masks and proof of vaccination will be required to enter the snow school building this year - don’t worry though, we will have a staff member outside to assist you!
  • If you or your child needs a lift ticket, they can be purchased inside the snow school building –anyone participating in a lesson gets 20% off their lift ticket for the day
  • Your instructor will meet you at the flag colour that corresponds to your ability level (see our Ability Level chart if you are unsure)
  • Introductions will be exchanged, you can chat about your experience, and off you go
  • Have lots of fun skiing or snowboarding!
  • Your lesson will end back in the same location where you started
  • Parents: Please note that all children 15 and under must be picked up at the end of their lesson at the flags where you dropped them off
