Rideshare to and from RED
We’ve teamed up with RideShare as another way to help get you to and from the mountain!
Rideshare makes it easy and fun to share and arrange rides. It remains 100% free to use for drivers and riders. Arrange rides to and from RED Mountain quickly and without hassle. View ratings other people have left from past rides before deciding who to travel with. Chat with potential companions about details, ask questions and make arrangements for pickup. Then have a great ride, enjoy the company and shred!
How Rideshare Works
Simply enter the starting and ending point of your trip and choose whether you are driving or need a ride. You will then be asked for a few more specifics about your ride and Rideshare will give you a chance to connect with any compatible rides on that day. Finally, a quick and easy login/registration and your ride is posted. If you use Facebook, you’ll be done in less than a minute. If not you can register using your email address and a password.
Once you have posted a request, anyone driving that route on that day is prompted to connect with you – even if their route is longer than yours. For example, someone driving from Trail to RED Mountain will be matched with a ride request from Rossland to RED Mountain because it is along the same route.
Once you’ve connected with someone about a ride, you can send them messages from within the Rideshare application. They are then notified about the message so they can respond. For your privacy and security, your email address and full name are never revealed to other users. You also have the option of entering a contact phone number in My Profile. This number is only shared with people who have contacted you about a ride, so you can stay in touch on travel day.
After the travel date Rideshare will send you a friendly reminder to take a few seconds and rate your experience by giving a star rating and an optional comment. This information is vital for future users when deciding who to connect with.
Mission / Impact
Rideshare Network’s goal is to provide an informational and educational platform that brings communities together through shared transportation, while creating environmental awareness and carbon emissions accountability. Rideshare’s carbon emissions analytics create a visual representation of emissions reductions that riders and drivers alike can use to see the environmental benefits of ridesharing. It is Rideshare’s hope that through ride sharing, people can make more educated, sustainable transportation choices and inspire others to do the same.
