RED Mountain Resort To Kick Off 2020 By Co-Hosting Peak Pride on January 2-5 with The Josie and Tourism Rossland!

“Welcoming” has always been the #1 strand in RED Mountain’s DNA sequence and we are proud to make it official with our hosting of Peak Pride January 2-5, 2020. RED is only one colour in the rainbow and we couldn’t be happier to be hosting the LGBT2Q+ community, its allies and friends, here at our world-class resort.

Peak Pride shines a rainbow spotlight on the BC interior’s best resorts and lays a friendly trail for LGBT2Q+ skiers and snowboarders looking for new spots to explore. The Thursday to Sunday event at RED starts with the first night-skiing of the season and and ends the final night with a DJ and Drag show in Rafters, voted the #1 Après Ski Bar on the planet by Powder a few years back. Not ready to call it a weekend? Same here. Sunday morning keeps the party going with a truly epic brunch from 10am to Noon at the Velvet Restaurant located at the boutique Josie Hotel.

“We’ve planned our Peak Pride itinerary exactly how we show out-of-town friends around RED and Rossland,” says Matt Henry, Director of Sales at RED. “We want to make sure everyone gets plenty of time on the mountain, in our best restaurants, up too late, and laughing until their cheeks hurt!”

Just as RED is the first colour in the rainbow, forming—nerd alert—the outer edge of the arc at a 650 nanometer wavelength, our January event is the first of Peak Pride in BC for 2020. Fans of the festival can also hit up Sun Peaks Feb. 26—March 1 and Big White April 1-5 to keep the party going with friends new and old. (The hardcores will already have December’s date at Silver Star under their belts.)

Skiers and snowboarders who aren’t up for an entire long weekend of revelry will still want to catch the over-the-top Pride Parade down the face of RED Mountain at 2:30pm Saturday, January 4th!
