The Course focuses on in-depth avalanche transceiver work with rescue skills for small touring parties. The course terrain would be inbounds and adjacent sack country. This is an excellent introduction into backcountry safety, snowpack and terrain. Touring gear is not necessary but would make life easier. The following safety gear is necessary: transceiver shovel and probe.

This 3 hour clinic will cover the basics of backcountry travel around RED Resort. Learn how to operate your touring gear, skinning techniques, safe travel tips and powder skiing/riding tips. Open to skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers.

Ages 15+, Intermediate to Expert ability

Gain valuable avalanche training and certification through the Canadian Avalanche Association’s Avalanche Skills Training course led by experienced and certified snow safety technicians from the Rossland area. This course includes a 4 hour indoor session as well as 2 days in the field and is offered to skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers.
