RED Mountain, the oldest ski resort in Western Canada, is dropping into the history book. The fierce, independent mountain that is the first stop on B.C.’s famous Powder Highway is bucking the trend of MegaResort mergers and acquisitions and taking its next capital campaign to the people via the internet.

Friday July 1st, in conjunction with Canada Day celebrations, marked the grand opening of RED Mountain Resort’s Summer Get Lost Adventure Centre – the first central booking system for adventure activities in the Kootenays.

The Legacy Training Centre at RED Mountain Resort is pleased to announce its recognition as BC Alpine's Resort of the Year. This award is given annually to a resort in British Columbia that has gone above and beyond to support, promote and enhance the sport of alpine ski racing in the province.

RED Mountain will be a busy place starting this September with crews and equipment continuing to work on the Hotel construction, the second phase of Snow Making to the top of Red Mountain, and the Grey Mountain Chairlift. In addition, road construction is in process between Granite and Grey and on the south side of Mount Kirkup as well as run brushing and clearing, lift maintenance and on mountain construction.
