Views you get skiing RED

Welcome to RED.

You are a Stranger Here But Once.

Fiercely independent RED Mountain, located in Rossland, BC is a place of powerful contrasts. We’re the oldest resort in Western Canada yet we’re also the home of the most significant terrain expansion in the last decade.

We’re proudly Canadian yet located only minutes over the Washington/USA border in the snowy Kootenay mountains of the interior BC. Guests love our unpretentious vibes and they also love our massive terrain—3,850 acres!— that puts us in the Top 10 size-wise in N. America.

Welcome to The Good Life.

You know The Good Life when you see it. When you feel it. When it’s blasting you in the face with its cold, perfect powder. You can share it with your friends but you can never quite explain it to folks who’ve never felt it first-hand. Mostly you just babble and speak in sound effects and sometimes drool a bit with a glazed look in your eye.

You knew it was out there. In fact, it’s right here…and has been forever.

Bad at Math, But Proud of Our Numbers.

3,850 skiable acres provides something for everyone

With nearly 3,000 ft of vertical drop; 3,850 skiable acres, 300-inches of snowfall; $10/run cat-skiing; and 5, count ‘em 5, skiable peaks, your winter playground knows no limits. We have famous tree runs, pristine powder, glorious groomers, Ikon Pass access, and the only alpine taco truck in Canada.

You might notice by looking at our trail map, is that RED is biiiigggggg—but fear not. We’re a friendly giant… The next thing you’ll notice, standing at the base, is we have numerous peaks, many of which offer 360-degree descents versus just a “front side” or a “back side.” The beauty of this is that it spreads out the crowds and allows you to follow the sun. It also allows mixed-skill groups to ride the lift together, pick different lines to the bottom, and for everyone to get what they came for—and then lie about it on the chair. If you’re a numbers person, check out stats and maps here or if you’re more visual, scroll down to watch the video below to learn more about our peaks.

Learn from the locals… for free!

Yeah, you read that right. You don’t have to drop the big bucks to get the knowledge of RED local. Our FREE Snow Hosts will show you the best places on the mountain for your skill level and desired terrain.

How To Get Here

Getting to RED is painless and easy. Since RED is located just 8 miles across the US/Canada border (only a 2.5 hour drive north of Spokane, WA!), there are several options available for air access through Canada and the USA.

Some more eye candy for you.

Rossland Rules!

RED Mountain’s secret weapon

If you’ve only skied at resorts with tiny towns attached to them, Rossland will knock you over. This Goldrush Era “little city” with its wide, friendly main street, stone buildings, and unique shops and cafes will take you back in time. Make sure you stop for a snowy statue selfie with Olaus Jeldness, RED Mountain’s patron saint, and then tuck into the full-sized gourmet grocery store to gather ingredients for that one show-off meal you have up your sleeve. (For our American friends wondering where the wine and beer are, they are a few doors down at the liquor store. It’s the bleep-in’ government, eh?)

As Friendly as the syrup is maple
