2021/22 Terrain Opening Updates

Please note that early season conditions do exist so please ski and ride with care.
Please respect rope lines and other markings that are in place to avoid current (and hidden) hazards and to keep you safe.

UPDATE – Monday, January 3rd, 9AM:

Grey Mountain should be opening TODAY! We’re just waiting for the final go ahead from our amazing patrol team once avalanche control is completed. Friendly reminder to ride with care because early season conditions still exist (the mountain and probably your legs) and we want to see you for many more powder days to come this season. See our RED Report for up-to-date information on which lifts are running and what runs have been groomed.

UPDATE – Tuesday, December 28th, 4PM:

Red Chair will be opening @ 11am tomorrow! It’s the first day Red will be spinning for public but please be aware that early season hazards exist and we recommend guests stay on the groomed runs for now. Check the snow report in the morning for what’s available!

BONUS: All of Granite will be open for shredding tomorrow! (Slides…Main…you name it )

Enjoy that powder responsibly and happy shredding!

UPDATE – Tuesday, December 28th, 10AM:

The T-Bar will be open this morning, and we’re hoping to have Red Chair up and operating later this week. Stay tuned! Please note that Buckeye on Paradise is closed until we get some more snow. See our RED Report for up-to-date information on which lifts are running and what runs have been groomed.

UPDATE – Saturday, December 25th, 7:45PM:

Silverlode and Topping Chair have been happily sending guests into some great powder-filled turns this holiday weekend, and Paradise along with the rest of Granite Mountain will be set to open Sunday! There will be final touches to mountain preparation along with avy control tomorrow morning so follow along on our Snow Report and our Instagram and Facebook Stories for the most updated information regarding our opening rollout for any changes. Lift tickets will be full price starting Sunday.

UPDATE – Wednesday, December 22nd, 4PM:

We’re thrilled to kick off the 21/22 winter season tomorrow on Thursday the 23rd! As our teams continue to prepare for opening, below is the planned rollout for the next few days. Please note that this plan can change based on weather and that we will continue to provide public updates if we get new information via daily assessments with our outside ops team.

Thursday Opening:
Silverlode Chair will be open. All Silverlode runs will be accessible with the exception of Panhandle. Corky’s Field will be assessed in the morning. T-bar and Magic Carpet will not be open and we hope to open the Magic Carpet by the weekend. Lift ticket prices will be reduced 50% from the full day price.

Friday:
We plan to open the Topping Creek Chair! Morning updates on runs will be provided in our snow report. Lift ticket prices will be reduced 30% from the full day price.

Saturday:
We plan to open the Paradise Chair along with Southside and Rhino’s. Motherlode will be spinning for transportation only, with boundary ropes at the top of Motherlode. We are hoping to open the Magic Carpet as well. Morning updates on runs will be provided in our snow report. Lift ticket prices will be reduced 20% from the full day price.

Resort COVID-19 Protocol Update:
As of Thursday, December 23rd, please note for the continued health and safety of both our guests and employees, face coverings will now be required in both lift lines and around the base area. We kindly ask that you do your part in keeping our resort open and our community safe this winter.

UPDATE – Dec 20, 2021, 4PM:

Thank you everyone for your patience! We’re happy to announce we are officially planning to kick off our 21/22 winter this Thursday, December 23rd. Please be aware we will have a limited opening to start the season but the snow forecast for the next several days looks very promising. As our teams on the mountain continue to work diligently these next couple of days, we will provide an update by Wednesday afternoon regarding what runs/chairs will be available and what reduced lift ticket prices will be for Thursday’s opening.

We’d like to stress during this time as we prepare for opening, to please avoid any and all uphill travel on the mountain. Our teams on the mountain are operating heavy equipment around the clock and Patrol will be performing avalanche control which may include the use of explosives. The uphill travel closure is for the safety of both our employees and guests. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

UPDATE – Dec. 20, 2021 – 10am:

We’ve had some great snow over the last week! Our team is currently on the mountain and assessing snowpack and plan of action for opening the mountain! We will have a more formal update by EOD today regarding a planned opening schedule.

UPDATE – Dec. 15, 2021:

With another 30+ cms of snow over the last 7 days, things are looking much better as we prep for opening, but we’re not quite there yet to open this weekend. We’re looking to get another 20-30 cms in order to get our cats and staff safely on the mountain for setup, and the forecast for next week is looking really positive. We’ll be playing it day by day as the snow comes in, and we’ll continue to provide updates as we progress into our opening preparations! We’re almost there, keep the snow dances up!

UPDATE – Dec. 10, 2021:
