BIO:
I started mountain biking when I was 5 years old so I could be like my older brother. I’ve done it pretty much my whole life and it never fails to put a smile on my face. Whether it’s a quick ride after work or laps with a crew it’s always the best time.

BIO:
Mountain biking has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started out racing cross-country mountain bikes in Ontario, while also spending a lot of time riding BMX and dirt jumps with friends. As I got older and moved out West, I got into Enduro racing and eventually found my passion in Freeride mountain biking.
Since then, biking has taken me all over the world. I’ve been lucky enough to ride different bike parks, Freeride zones, and dirt jumps while meeting incredible people along the way. As much as I love progression and pushing myself on the bike, my favourite part of mountain biking has always been the community. Some of my best memories have come from road trips, digging jumps, and riding with friends until dark.
I’m especially drawn to Freeride because of the creativity and freedom it brings. I love finding new lines and having fun on my bike no matter where I’m riding. For me, mountain biking has always been about more than competition — it’s about experiences, friendships, and the places riding can take you.

Mountain biking is a huge part of my life and means a lot to me. I’m super excited for the bike season ahead and can’t wait to keep improving and riding more.

BIO:
The riding community has a great way of pulling you in and turning biking into a lifestyle (don’t try telling little Jess that when she was told there was an uphill involved). It has taken me to many places I would have never seen otherwise and introduced me to people I would have never met. Something about the mix of adventure, challenge, and a non-negotiable sweet treat afterwards.

Years you’ve been mountain biking: 22
Favourite RED Bike Park Trail: Lapis (or Dreadhead ;))
BIO:
I’m a skier, biker, engineer and Rossland local. I grew up here and after leaving for university, I made my way back in 2019. When I’m not at work, I can be found playing outside, planning my next adventure or making snacks to fuel it.
I grew up playing outside on the KCTS trails and most of my early years on a bike were spent terrified while chasing my dad. I kept biking as a cross-training for skiing, then in my late teens and early twenties, I started to find my confidence on my bike, then got truly obsessed. When I moved back to Rossland, I found that the time away had given me a new perspective on these trails and the terrification was something to pursue. When Red started hosting fun races, it was a low pressure way to challenge my ability surrounded by friends. Biking has taught me that there is always room to grow!

Years you’ve been mountain biking: 20
Favourite RED Bike Park Trail: obsidius
BIO:
Born and raised in Perth, Australia, I’ve been mountain biking for over 20 years and it has become a huge part of who I am. Riding has always been more than just a sport to me — it’s challenge, freedom, progression, and a way to push myself both mentally and physically. I’ve been lucky to call rossland home for the past 12 years and the local trails here have really made me the rider I am today. Mountain biking gives me a sense of focus and connection that’s hard to find anywhere else, and I love the strong community that surrounds the sport. My favourite trail at RED Bike Park is obsidious because it has massive jumps, technical shark fins and is fully pined the whole time which is everything I enjoy about riding Being part of the RED Bike Park athlete team is something I’m proud of. I’m excited to represent the local riding community, continue progressing as a rider, and share my passion for mountain biking both on and off the hill.

I’ve been living here in beautiful Rossland for over 10 years and have grown to love this place and everything it offers: The immense amount of bike trails out the back door, RED being only 5min down the road and the unbelievable community. It is truly a dream land. I live for my passions: skiing, MTB, surfing and playing sports and being outdoors in general. I’m the founder of the Team GIVE’R Foundation and our youth competitive Freeride Club training out of Red Mountain. My life motto is GIVE’R (give it all you got) in everything you do – and my mission is to help youth fulfil their passions in life.
I love sharing rides with my friends and of course my dog Lynx; he might even love it more than me! Sharing the bike park with the community and meeting tourists has brought a whole new vibe to Rossland and RED that I absolutely love. I can’t wait to share the stoke with you this summer! Let’s GIVE’R 🤘

Favourite RED Bike Park Trail: Obsidius
BIO:
Born in the Netherlands, I rode my little bicycletta to school every day as a kid, then learned to ride mountain bikes in North Vancouver in 2007 after graduating from high school. I had a split personality between 2007 and 2018, moving between Vancouver and Amsterdam for university and work every other year. In 2022 my girlfriend and I made the move to Rossland, got all the toys and a doggie and never looked back. Rossland and Red Mountain are my home!
I first travelled to Vancouver when I was 20 and got offered a job as an instructor in North Vancouver. “How hard can it be? Let’s go!”. It was hard. But I fell in love with it much harder and I decided to save money all year in NL so I could travel to Vancouver to ride bikes all summer. Eventually, biking 6 weeks every 2 or 3 years wasn’t enough so plans were made and here we are 🤘 Biking lets me shut down my ADHD and focus on nothing else but staying alive and I love it.
Hometown: Rossland since July 2025 (Calgary prior for 20 yrs, originally from Quebec)
Years you’ve been mountain biking: 20+
Favourite RED Bike Park Trail: Lapis
BIO:
I got into mountain biking as a single mom after moving from Quebec to Western Canada. What started as a way to stay active and spend more time outside quickly became a passion.
Once I discovered drops and jumps, I instantly got hooked. The adrenaline of accomplishing a new feature and the freeing feeling of being in the air completely changed the sport for me. I eventually moved to the Kootenays for the love of riding and discovering new trails. Whether it’s steep tech, loam, or fun jump lines, I’m always ready to ride.

Favorite RED Bike Park Trail: Can o’ worms
BIO:
My name is Naomi, and I have twin siblings. I really love sports and being active. When I’m not biking, I’m usually skiing, doing track and field, playing basketball, volleyball, or swimming with the Trail Stingrays. I also love animals. I have a cat, lots of fish, and a gecko named Dune.
When I’m not doing sports or hanging out with my pets, I like reading and writing horror stories. I think it’s fun to make up creepy characters and scary plots. My dad introduced me to biking when I was 4 and I started mountain biking when I was 5. My whole family now bikes, including my grandparents and we go on family bike trips every year to new places. My favourite is when we go to bike parks, because I love descending. (climbing is okay….sometimes)

I love going on huge bike rides with my dad and this year we are doing seven summits. I love Technical trails most but this year I really want to get better at jumps and drops. I started biking when my dad took me to the grassy hill at the baseball diamond in Rossland, with my first pedal bike, and sent me down the hill. I was pedalling by the bottom of the hill and I’ve loved it ever since!

Age: 27
Hometown: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Years you’ve been mountain biking: This is my first full season
Favourite RED Bike Park Trail: I haven’t had the chance to ride the bike park yet, but I am excited to find my favourite trail this summer
BIO:
I’m a girl who is originally from the prairies who moved to Fernie three years ago for the winters and quickly fell in love with snowboarding. At the time, I never really understood the mountain biking obsession that took over every summer. That changed last year when a friend invited me to go shuttling for her birthday in Kimberley, BC. It was terrifying and exhilarating all at once, and I was instantly hooked.
I bought all the gear right away, convinced I’d spend the whole summer riding, but fear got in the way. I worried about being too slow, not keeping up with my friends, and falling, so my bike mostly sat untouched.
Everything changed when I moved to Trail earlier this year. A friend who was also newer to the sport convinced me to ride with her, and after a few green runs, I remembered how fun biking really is. Around the same time, I joined the Mountain Ravens in Rossland, a women’s riding group that introduced me to such a supportive and welcoming community.
Since then, mountain biking has become one of my favourite ways to challenge myself physically and mentally. I have a love/hate for the climbs, but I love the adrenaline on the descents, and the way biking lets you experience nature differently. Pushing through the mental blocks that once scared me has become one of the most rewarding parts of the sport.

BIO:
Hey everyone! I’m Emily Ashton, a local rider from Castlegar, BC. I got into mountain biking during COVID as a way to get outside and have some fun with my brother Jeff, and I’ve been hooked ever since. What started as a way to pass the time quickly turned into a passion for pushing my limits, building new skills, and being part of an awesome biking community. One of my favorite parts of riding is getting out for laps with the girlies, cheering each other on, and having fun on two wheels. Whether it’s a big progression day or just cruising trails, there’s nothing better than sharing it with friends. I’m super excited to be a part of the RED Ambassador Team this season and can’t wait to help spread the bike park stoke. If you spot a chrome pink bike ripping around the hill, it’s probably me – Come say hi, and let’s get a lap in!

Favourite RED Bike Park Trail: Paydirt and all the rest.
BIO:
I’m incredibly excited to be joining the ambassador team for the new bike park at Red Mountain. I’ve been riding mountain bikes since the very beginning and can still remember the first time I rolled off-road. I was racing road at the time and our sponsor had brought in some mountain bikes from California – from that moment on brappppp.
I briefly raced cross country however I travelled a lot with my friend who was two time national DH Champion. I quickly moved into downhill, where I earned my pro card and spent four years traveling across Canada competing in the Canada Cup – **Including racing the DH nationals at Red in 1995 ** TRUE FACT
I still ride most days – I just drove to Whistler for opening day at that park – my favourite is park laps or booking up on an e-bike- to come down. What excites me most about Red’s new bike park is seeing the energy, and investment going into building something special for riders of all levels right here in our community.
I’m grateful to be involved and happy to help however I can — from sharing tips and lines to simply getting out and riding – you can follow me or I can follow you!!
Age: 24
Hometown: Rotherfield, UK
Years you’ve been mountain biking: 12
Favourite RED Bike Park Trail: I’ve never ridden here! Probably lapis or obsidius
BIO:
I’ve been riding as long as I can remember, spending every weekend with friends in the woods, finding or building new things to ride! I love flowing through some jumps or turns, and being able to get out to some of the most beautiful places. It was natural for me to pick up a camera to tell the stories of days out or trips – I’ve become drawn to the creative side of MTB through photography. Capturing the stoke of friends doing a new trick or blasting through a section has become as rewarding as the riding itself for me. I still love to ride hard and push myself, but photography has given me a new appreciation for the sport. Biking for me is a lifelong passion where I have made some of the best friends, and had the best experiences, and I’m so stoked to join the Red Mountain team for the summer!
