If your mini grom is ready to roll, our camps are the perfect way to kickstart their biking adventure!
Half-day camps designed to introduce 6–8 year olds to singletrack riding and bike handling in a fun, supportive group environment. Lift ticket included for novice/intermediate classes.
These half-day camps are all about building confidence, learning new skills, and having an absolute blast on our purpose-built trails designed just for young riders. From mastering the basics to sending their first features, your little one will spend their week ripping through flowy terrain and getting comfortable on dirt—all while being guided by our awesome, experienced coaches.
Whether they’re just getting started or already loving the thrill of two wheels, this camp brings the stoke in a fun, positive group environment right here at RED. Spots fill fast—don’t miss the chance to get them out riding, smiling, and shredding all summer long!

Typical Day:
Drop Off/Pick Up:
- Drop Off: 8:30am A PARENT MUST DROP OFF THEIR CHILD AND SIGN A WAIVER ON THEIR FIRST DAY
- Pick Up: 12:00pm Each child must be signed out by a parent. If your child will be picked up by someone else please inform the coach in the morning.
- Meeting Point: Red Mountain Bike School is located in a log cabin between the Magic Carpet and Silverlode Chair.
- Meet your instructor outside of bike school at 8:30am. Please be on time and ready to go. Groups will be riding on the trails near Red Mountain, and in the bike park (after it opens at 10am) for novice levels. Time may be spent closer to the base, with some crafts and activities incorporated into their schedule, especially on hotter days. Pickup is at 12:00pm.
Snack/Lunch:
- Please provide snacks that fit in their pockets or their pack. A refillable water bottle is mandatory.
Inclement Weather:
- Camps will run during light rain. Please check the weather and ensure your child comes prepared with a rain jacket/rain pants on rainy days. During heavier rainfall or inclement weather, our camps will pause and participants will remain indoors in the bike school building or in Sourdough with their coach.
Bike Park Pass:
- Please call the office to check if your camper will need a bike park pass for their camp!
Required Equipment:
Bike Requirements:
- Minimum 16” bike with both front and rear hand brakes (no coaster brakes).
- Front suspension is required for novice levels riding in the bike park.
Helmet & Protective Gear:
- A XC half-shell helmet is acceptable for beginners; Full-face helmet is mandatory for all novice levels. Novice and intermediate riders should bring both!
- Gloves, knee pads, and elbow pads are highly recommended for XC, and required for the bike park.
Clothing & Essentials:
- Riders must wear appropriate bike clothing, closed-toe shoes, and sunscreen.
- It is a good idea to pack a spare tube, repair kit and multi-tool. If campers need a spare tube during a lesson, the coach will grab one at Piste Off, our retail store, and you can pay for it at the end of the lesson.
Cancellation Policy:
- All lessons must be paid in full at the time of booking.
- Lessons may be refunded or re-booked more than 48 hours in advance with a $25 admin fee per lesson. Any re-booked lesson must be dated within the current season. Within 48 hours of the start of the lesson, there will be no refunds or option to re-book. Guests who are late for their lesson may not be able to join.
- All lessons are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment, extreme weather or instructor availability, illness or injury. Participants will be notified promptly and will be given the option to re-book or refund the original payment method.
- Once a Club or Camp has commenced, there will be no refunds or make-up days for missed lessons issued.
Our beginner level is for those riders comfortable on pavement and wide gravel trails, looking to get onto easy green single track trails. Beginner levels will not be going into the bike park.
Prerequisites
- Must be comfortable riding a bike on pavement and gravel paths.
- Is comfortable riding for 2 hours
- Can use front and back hand brakes
- Can maintain balance on the bike including on gravel paths
Key Goals
- Can comfortably ride green single track trails.
- Develop understanding of gears to make riding more fun.
- Use both the front and back brakes to maintain speed and control without skidding.
- Maintain momentum on single track terrain.
- Demonstrate good neutral and ready position in their riding.
Our Novice level is for those riders comfortable with green and some blue cross country trails and are looking to develop their skills to improve confidence and become comfortable on blue trails. Expect to ride beginner trails in the bike park as a part of this camp. Lift tickets are required.
Prerequisites
- Must be at least 6 years old.
- Must be comfortable riding a bike on pavement and gravel paths
- Has been introduced to using gears
- Can stand up on their pedals off the seat while riding over bumpy terrain
- Is comfortable riding for 1-4 hours
Key Goals
- Develop understanding of gears to make riding more fun
- Use both the front and back brakes to maintain speed and control without skidding
- How to adapt their position on different terrain from climbing to descending
- Maintain momentum on single track terrain including roots and rocks
- Demonstrate good neutral and ready position in their riding.
