Paragliding is a very weather dependent sport. Conditions must be favorable and are at the total discretion of the pilot and guide. We recommend inquiring no more than 1-2 days in advance for a flight. Winter flying is much more challenging and all aspects of weather, including wind and visibility are key factors when deciding if a flight is possible as conditions can change hourly.
How long does the paragliding flight last for?
The entire experience will last at least an hour (and it’s all exciting), while the duration of the flight itself will depend on the air of any given day: think minimum 10 minutes, maximum 30 minutes.
How old do I have to be to paraglide?
Anyone who is able-bodied between the age of 12-89yrs. The aircraft can only carry passengers between 80 and 240lbs. All passengers must be uninjured and able to ride the chairlift and ski at an intermediate level.
How do I get to the launch site?
You will meet your pilot at the Get Lost Adventure Centre and go from there.
Are there any weight restrictions or basic level of fitness needed for paragliding?
The aircraft can only carry passengers between 80 and 240lbs. All passengers must be uninjured and able to ride the chairlift and ski at an intermediate level.
Are the flights weather dependant?
YES. Paragliding is extremely weather dependent. If the appropriate weather does not present at the time of your booking, your money will be refunded, or you will have the option to rebook.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made prior to 48 hours before flight time will be fully refunded. Cancellations within 48hrs of flight time will be subject to a 50% charge. Cancellations within 12 hours of flight time will be subject to a 100% charge. Failure to attend a scheduled flight will result in a 100% charge.
Do I have to wear a helmet and goggles?
YES. A snowsports helmet and goggles will work perfectly.
Do I have to be a good skier to paraglide?
Intermediate skiing skills are required to launch and land the glider in a controlled manner. You must be able to hold your ski’s parallel during the take-off and landing
Can I take a camera to use during the flight?
Yes, of course! Cameras should be tethered to your jacket with a few feet of thin cord. A dropped camera will not survive. Also, remember that winter flying is cold –bare hands will freeze quickly: practice using your camera with gloves on. HINT: licking your gloved finger will make your touchscreen recognize it.
How should I dress for the flight?
Dress as you would for skiing that day. If it is a particularly cold day, overdress. The glider moves at a steady 38-42km/h so there will be a similar amount of wind to skiing medium-fast.
Do I need skis?
YES. Skis are required to ride the lifts and also make take-off and landing easier. LEAVE your poles behind however: they will just get in the way.
Can I snowboard and fly?
Unfortunately no. Launching and landing on a snowboard is too awkward and poses safety risks.
